It is very easy to do and generally only takes a couple minutes (depending on your MC database/library size). This is a new build of JRiver Media Center 31. I have given this advice/fix at least a dozen times, and the success rate is 100%. That way, you avoid overwriting any new tag changes to your music files since the MC 31 install. The issue is most likely related to settings, so restore only those (see the 2 checkbox options in the dialog box when you launch the restore task). MC automatically uses your latest previous versions library as the starting point when installing a new version, but for whatever reason, when multiple major versions are skipped, the new MC install seems to miss things that the manual restore picks up. Any time MC major versions are skipped when installing the latest MC (like going from MC28 to MC31), it is best to manually restore everything from the very last backup (that MC automatically makes) from the prior MC version where everything was exactly as you wanted it (assuming you still have the MC28 folder).
